Last week the BMW Guggenheim Lab officially opened in NYC’s Lower East Side. Even though the opening party was just an excuse for a bunch of people to get together and drink (nothing wrong with that) what impressed me the most was the space. Its open, comfortable, promotes interaction and beautifully designed. The Lab’s mission is to address issues of contemporary urban life through programs and public discourse. Lead by international, interdisciplinary teams of emerging talents in the areas of urbanism, architecture, art, design, science, technology, education, and sustainability, after NYC the Lab is set to visit 8 more cities in 6 years.
