Another masterpiece from Steven Holl. Scheduled to start building on the East River next year, his design is impressive in how inclusive it is for a library. Once buildings that were closed off to the outside world, his design creates not only an amazing space for the library goer to read but also a beautiful place from where to admire the east river and Manhattan. Its almost as if he wants to create a conversation between his contemporary design and the older yet majestic design of the UN right across the river. Very poetic if you ask me.
