Gehry‘s new home for the New World Symphony opens today in Miami Beach. In a neighborhood that was once in dire need of a face lift, this new hall brings a certain freshness to the architectural landscape while respecting the existing Art Deco aesthetic.  It also brings a new energy to classical music, an art form seen as stuffy and old, by creating a hall that is playful and is able to connect the performer more easily to the audience.  Fore more: NYT: Gehry Design Plays Fanfare for the Common ManMH: Mr. Gehry’s opus: a look at how New World Center concert hall got built
