
Here are a pair of architects that just came to my attention. Whats funny is that I’ve seen there work before but after seeing the beautiful shapes of the new Armani Flagship in New York I just had to look them up. Below check out the article in the Times and the architect’s web site:

IHT: Good or bad design? The verdict(s)
An article on the debate that took place in Davos on what is good design. The article asks the right question of, if something is meant to be good design can it be good if no one enjoys it? If functionality is a proponent of good design, can the work of architects like Hadid or Gehry be considered good design? I think they are but functionality is relative…functional for who? In other words, what is functional for one (the museum who needs to attract audiences) isn’t for the other (the resident who just wants to live comfortably). This article is mostly about industrial design but the issue is relative across the board. I would love to hear your thoughts …
