A Little Creepy or Just Really Cool? You Decide….

One would think that this were an ordinary coffee table.  Well the students at the Pratt Institute of Industrial Design would like you to think differently!  This infact is a coffee table that once you die will serve as your coffiin…yes…you read it right, your coffin.  As explained to us by the designer of this object, the point of this table is to be buried in an object that has played such a central role in your life.  Ya…its a little creepy, but still looks like a nice table…

The weekend of May 9th was the annual Brooklyn Designs Trade Show presented by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.  Out of the slew of different designers showing their work these four really stood out as being innovative and forward thinking.

Worth Checking Out: David Ellis & The Theory Icon Project

In the past the Theory Icon Project has showcased Philip Johnson’s Glass House, Tom’s Shoes and Charity: Water.  Now they commissioned David Ellis to create a work that they would showcase at their stores around the country.  To learn more visit the Theory Icon Project.
